Nemesis – H. P. Lovecraft – Authors book
The poem Nemesis by H. P. Lovecraft is told from the point of view of a lonely evil and ancient being who lives across time and experiences the births and downs of civilizations. I decided to think of the book as a kind of diary.
Since each verse is from a different environment, I decided to place one verse on each spread and leave enough space for drawings and text.The illustrations show not only the specific scenes that appear in the poem, but also the elements I found between the lines and the abstract parts which support the impression of loss and loneliness and leave the reader room for his own feelings.
When creating illustrations, I decided to use mainly classic media, which allowed me to immerse myself in drawing.
I chose five different kinds of papers for the final print. They are graded according to color and thus support the passage of time, which is crucial for the poem. I then book binded the book myself and interfered with it, making each of the twelve pieces that were created the original.
Then I made the cover, when unfolded the works as another original drawing and thus extends the book.
